I attended the inauguration of the Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF) at Serena Hotel, Islamabad – a game-changing initiative for our vibrant startup ecosystem! PSF is set to inject up to Rs 2 billion annually into Pakistani startups and offers equity-free capital to help close a VC round for budding ventures. Dr. Umar Saif, the Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, shared the visionary goal of PSF, stating that it has the potential to contribute a whopping Rs 50 billion annually to our growing startup ecosystem.

During the event, I had the pleasure of interacting with industry leaders from the public sector, as well as the IT and telecom industries. It was an honor to engage with Zeeshan Rehman – Chief Commercial Officer at the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and the insightful Saud Mukhtar Commercial Manager and PSD Adviser at the British High Commission.

This groundbreaking initiative is a boon for the technology space, and the entire startup ecosystem is set to reap the benefits.

Moving forward – we are excited to welcome the Mobile and tech ecosystem – industry leaders, startup founders, and academia representatives to the Pakistan Mobile Summit, hosted by Tecno Mobile on Monday – January 29, 2024, at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad.
