Honored to Attend the U.S. Consul General’s First Visit to LUMS
It was an honor to attend the first visit of U.S. Consul General Lahore, Mr. Stetson Sanders, to Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He was warmly welcomed by Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor LUMS, and Dr. M. Adeel Zaffar, Dean of the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB).
Our discussion focused on several key themes:
- The evolving academic landscape in Pakistan
- The LUMS mission to equip students with the skills, mindset, and confidence to lead
- The historic and ongoing support of the United States in strengthening higher education
- The impact of the LUMS alumni network in the United States and its global contributions
- Opportunities to expand University-to-University research collaboration between Pakistan and the U.S.
As Former President of the LUMS SDSB Luminites Association, Adjunct Faculty at LUMS, and Member of the Board of Governors at the American Business Forum, I was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important dialogue on shared progress and partnership.
Strengthening bridges between our two nations—through education, collaboration, and shared purpose—remains both a responsibility and a privilege. Looking forward to the continued impact of this meaningful engagement.
