LUMS and British High Commission Explore Global Education and Leadership Opportunities
It was a privilege to join the leadership of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in welcoming representatives from the British High Commission and the Chevening team for a meaningful discussion on expanding educational opportunities and international exposure for talented Pakistanis.
The meeting brought together Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost at LUMS, Mohammad Ali Ibrahim, Director, Advancement, and the Office of Advancement team to explore how stronger academic partnerships can connect Pakistani students and professionals with world-class learning and leadership development opportunities in the United Kingdom.
As a proud LUMS alumnus and visiting faculty member, with over two decades of involvement in university and alumni initiatives, this engagement was particularly meaningful to me.
Pakistan remains one of the largest recipient countries of Chevening Scholarships, highlighting the importance of identifying promising talent across disciplines and preparing future leaders to pursue higher education at leading UK universities.
My sincere appreciation to my dear friend Ben Warrington of the British High Commission Lahore for involving me in this important conversation, and to Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Mohammad Ali Ibrahim, Alice Fidler, Zoha Manzar, and the entire team for their valuable contributions.
Meaningful partnerships between academia, diplomacy, and industry have the potential to create lasting opportunities for Pakistan’s next generation of leaders.
Looking forward to strengthening these connections and supporting initiatives that advance education, leadership, and international collaboration.
