I had the pleasure of visiting the University Of Central Punjab (UCP) and meeting with Dr. Hammad Naveed, Pro-Rector of UCP. It was inspiring to see the impactful initiatives undertaken by Dr. Hammad Naveed and his team, all aimed at encouraging students to learn and solve industry-facing problems.

UCP’s exemplary sustainability initiatives include:

Innovative Wastewater Treatment Filters: Driving significant environmental impact.
Student-Led Projects: Developing sustainable alternatives to conventional materials.
Student-Focused Marketplace: Supporting budding entrepreneurs’ ventures.

Dr. Hammad gave me a tour of Takhleeq Lab, an entrepreneurial incubation center, expertly led by Yaser Awan (my friend from TiE Islamabad). With 17,000 students on campus, UCP is one of the largest universities in Lahore. Under Dr. Hammad’s leadership, they are working on raising the bar across all key facets to enhance the University’s capacity and impact.

Our meeting also outlined opportunities for collaborative engagements between The Leaders Network Pakistan and UCP, bringing industry and academia together on crucial subjects like sustainability, human capital development, data sciences, and entrepreneurship.
